Selection guide: Image to Video

Artificin selection guide

Check what survives when the image moves

Practical selection advice. The suggestions below are not hands-on test results.

01

Preserve the reference

Choose a still with recognisable edges, text or product details. Watch for distortions and invented elements throughout the clip, not only in its first frame.

02

Control the movement

Specify whether the subject, camera or background should move. Compare unwanted motion with the intended result and note how much revision is possible.

03

Fit the delivery

Check framing, duration, export resolution and any required crop. Measure the usable portion of each attempt rather than counting every generated second.

A useful test before you subscribe

Animate a still of an object you own with a simple camera move. List three details that must remain unchanged. Compare equal attempt budgets and record when each detail drifts, the usable duration and the total credits spent.

Frequently asked questions

Should I use image-to-video or text-to-video?

Use image-to-video when the starting appearance matters and you have a suitable reference. Use text-to-video to explore a scene from a written brief. Some products support both, but evaluate each workflow separately.
