Single product cutout
Inspect handles, gaps and the contact shadow. Put the result on both a dark and a light background to reveal missing edges or a leftover halo.

Practical selection advice. The suggestions below are not hands-on test results.

Use a difficult image from your own collection before buying credits. Check at the final display size as well as at 100%; a clean thumbnail can hide a rough mask.
Count the files that need manual repair, not just successful downloads. Compare batch handling, output resolution and the cost of the accepted results.
| Tool | Documented approach | Useful next check |
|---|---|---|
| remove.bgOfficial source ↗ | Dedicated background removal with app and API options | Verify downloadable resolution, format and current processing allowances for your plan. |
| Adobe FireflyOfficial source ↗ | Background removal with further editing in Firefly | Check the exported cutout and whether the editing steps you need require additional entitlements. |
| PhotoroomOfficial source ↗ | Background removal within a product-image editing platform; batch and API products are also offered | Check the plan and product required for batch work. Availability of an API does not mean it is included in a consumer plan. |
Use a product photo you own. The aim is to preserve the product, not invent a replacement.
Inspect the mask over a contrasting background. Edge repair may be necessary; a white preview can hide the fringe.
Compare with the original. Glass, mesh and reflections can be ambiguous; try manual mask correction instead of accepting missing product details.
Check the actual pixel dimensions of the export. A preview or limited free download may not match your final delivery requirements.
Try the same three images in each shortlisted tool: a solid product, a fine-edged subject and an object with holes. Record the output size, visible defects, repair time and cost. This is a suggested test; Artificin has not scored these tools using it.
Check that the downloaded file supports transparency and that your export preserved it. JPEG does not store transparent pixels. Open the result over a coloured background to distinguish a flattened white background from a viewer's white canvas.
Use cost per accepted image: divide total processing charges by the number of files you can actually publish. Include paid high-resolution exports and the time spent repairing masks.
